Hi Tammy,
We wanted to know what principals were saying about Financial Literacy Days, so we sent a brief survey to school principals who have participated in Financial Literacy Days at their schools for the first or second time. Here are a few responses.
What did you hope your students would gain from a Financial Literacy Day at your school?
Huntington Bank believes in supporting the communities where it does business. Huntington Bank has asked me to contact you regarding your school's interest in participating in a Financial Literacy Day. There is no cost to your school or school district. We will schedule a day and time that works best for your school. Please visit our website (www.bonzy.org) to learn more about Financial Literacy Days and our hardcover, fully illustrated books. Our books were written to align with the National Standards for Personal Financial Education, which many states use to develop their standards. The interactive read-aloud sessions in K-2 classrooms last 20-30 minutes, followed by 15 minutes to give a copy of the book to each student, with their name written in the book. Every student will receive a copy of Best Day at the Zoo to keep and take home. Below my signature block on this email is a partial list of principals whose schools have participated in one or two Financial Literacy Days. Please reach out to them to hear for yourself.
I know it is a busy time getting ready for the new school year. I would like to connect with you to discuss Carey Elementary School’s participation in a Financial Literacy Day. Please let me know of a good day and time for a quick call. Thank you.
Best,
