About the Band: Assembled in 2022, the quartet of Ben Leonard (bass), Mark Piper (drums, percussion), Dan Hall (keys, guitar), and Caleb Dance (sax, flute) channel their collective energy to produce an infectious and danceable take on what they've termed "discodelic space funk." This jazz-adjacent retro-futuristic sound draws as much from 70's Fusion and Disco as it does from French House and classic 80's R&B. Throughout their adventurous original instrumental repertoire, Leonard and Piper's elastic and syncopated grooves provide the epicenter for Hall to inject splashes of harmonic color on guitar and keys, while Dance's horn and flute penetrate the synthesizer textures and soundscapes.
