What is a Career Immersion College?
An institution where ALL Faculty and Staff are engaged in transforming lives, careers, and communities. Pellissippi State will achieve this by implementing the College’s model of career-development focused guided pathways – Pellissippi Pathways – at scale. This will ensure every student, regardless of their program or pathway, receives progressively more real-world, career-relevant applied coursework as well as the supports and opportunities outside of class along their paths to prepare them for their chosen careers.
How do we achieve Career Immersion?
The Career Immersion College plan consists of five goals. Each goal is supported by College-wide strategies that will guide the development of projects and initiatives and is designed to encourage cross-functional collaboration. The five goals (The 5 A’s) are:
- Access - Create opportunities and remove barriers to and through the career immersion college for all of our constituents.
- Active Learning - Provide engaging, career-oriented experiences for all of our students and professional development opportunities for faculty and staff where learning can flourish.
- Achievement - Continuously improve the performance of students, employees, academic and workforce programs, and the career immersion college as a whole.
- Advancement - Grow partnerships with community stakeholders, ensuring the career immersion college and the community obtain the necessary resources for continued improvement and growth.
- Agility - Swiftly address emerging opportunities and challenges at the career immersion college and in the community through transparent communication and collaboration.
