Paint your own Alebrije Friday, October 17, 1-4 pm (no school this day!) $100 ($80 Museum Members) Instructed by Leah Johnson Ages 12 and older Fee includes: one hand-carved Alebrije from Mexico, all necessary supplies to paint, and instruction. Alebrijes are vibrant, fantastical creatures from Oaxaca, Mexico, symbolizing the power of turning dreams into reality. Through a special partnership with Mexican artisans, you can hand-paint your own carved animal using traditional techniques. This creative process is paired with meditation and ceremony to honor the culture, connect with the energy of your alebrije, and bring your dream creature to life.
