Stuarts Opera House Summer Arts Camp invites kids ages 9-16 to think creatively about the world around them and express themselves through the arts. Please contact summercamp@stuartsoperahouse.org to be placed on a waitlist. 2025 Arts Camp Sessions: WEEK 1: Music July 21st July 25th The Music portion of Summer Arts Camp will closely follow the curriculum for our Afterschool Music Program (AMP). Led by local professional musicians and AMP Program Manager, Adam Remnant, young artists will form bands, learn an instrument (or continue learning), create original songs, and learn all about what it takes to be a rockstar! Daily workshops in Music Theory, Performance Etiquette, Musicianship, Stage Plotting, and more! The Music week will culminate with a performance on the historic Stuarts Opera House stage on the afternoon of Friday July 25th, showcasing each band and their original song they created! WEEK 2: Theater & Tech (Finding Nemo KIDS!) July 28th August 1st Stuarts Opera House is thrilled to announce the production of Finding Nemo KIDS! as part of our Summer Arts Camp! Dive into an unforgettable experience with two dynamic tracks: one for actors and another for technicians! Actors will learn all the exciting material to bring the show to life through singing, acting, and dancing, while technicians will get hands-on experience creating the magic behind the scenesdesigning sets, props, costumes, and lighting. Both tracks will come together for fun, collaborative workshops in each others disciplines, while also having dedicated time in their own groups to dive deep into their craft. Dont miss out on this chance to make a splash in the world of theater! On the first day of camp, well hold auditions, where our talented staff will assign roles to all the actors. Remember, every role is important! We need a large, vibrant ensemble to truly bring this story to life. Each actor will receive a script with their lines and any music they need to learn. All material will be taught during camp, but to help our performers shine, both actors and their caregivers will have access to practice tracks and additional rehearsal materials to continue practicing at home. Its all about teamwork and preparation to make this summer experience truly unforgettable! Learn more about the roles for students here.
