During the American Revolutionary War, the Cherokee nation engaged in raids against white settlers in North Carolina. These raids, part of a larger pattern of Cherokee resistance, involved scalping, burning houses, and stealing livestock. The Cherokee targeted areas in western North Carolina, including the Blue Ridge Mountains and the upper part of Burke and McDowell Counties. Come and Join us in reenacting history of Davidson's Fort and the Cherokee raid on the fort.
