Ever wonder why there is a dam located miles from Downtown Delaware, what it does, how does it benefit you? Dive into the history and purpose of Delaware Dam throughout the summer at the Delaware Dam Tours. Join us as we take a peek into the inner workings of Delaware Dam and discover the missions of the dam and USACE at Delaware. It will be a dam good time! Please note that due to ongoing dam construction, there are areas of the dam that are restricted, never fear, we will still get to go into the control tower! Please meet a staff member at the red pop up tent at 11am for the start of the tour. The tent will be located in the recreation area near Elm Grove Shelter. What to wear: The tour is 50:50 indoor and outdoor, dress for the weather and wear your walking shoes! The tour includes a lot of walking and steps.
