JSM/Asbury Masters Thanksgiving Fundraiser: 50x100 OR 50x50 (7am) 100% OF ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE B&G CLUB OF MONMOUTH COUNTY COST: o $20 minimum donation o $10: Students There will be a box in the pool area, please make any donations there on the morning of our swim. Nov 26: Brian@JSMswim.com For those who would like to burn off a few calories before stuffing themselves we'll be offering an 7am group workout on Thanksgiving... WHEN: THURSDAY - NOVEMBER 27 (7-9am) o This means IN THE WATER AT 7AM, so please plan to arrive BY 650am AT. THE. LATEST. WHAT: o On Thanksgiving morning, we'll be hosting a 50x100 (or 50x50) group workout. HOW 'GOOD' OF A SWIMMER DO I NEED TO BE? o Our 7am group will have lanes from 1:45 to 2:30 Interval (send-off) & many in between. o Tentatively, the 7am lanes will be set-up as follows: o LANE 1 (2:15) o LANES 2 & 3 (1:45) o LANES 4 & 5 (2:00) o LANE 6: 50x100 (2:30) *If you would like to swim w/ our 50x100 OR 50x50 (1:20-30 group), they will be starting at 545am. For clarity, to be included w/ this 50x100 group, you need to COMFORTABLY swim <1:15 /100yd pace for 5,000-yards. The JSM / Asbury Masters program is an organized group workout, designed for nearly every level of adult swimmer. Each day/week, we have up to ( different coached workouts available, for athletes ranging from newcomers to former collegiate swimmers. If you have never participated in a structured swim program and/or are slower than 2:00 /100-yard pace, we recommend participating in either our 8-Week Beginner 101 Swim Program or Masters E, F or G Groups, so you'll be more comfortable in the group workout environment (if you have questions about any of these programs, please message us or e-mail Coach Brian: Brian@JSMswim.com). WHERE: Asbury Boys & Girls Club: Parking Lot (You’ll see my RED Jeep in this lot): 1504 Sewall Avenue Asbury Park, NJ 07712 *Enter through the door in the rear of the building (next to the glass doors by the pool). If this lot is full, you can also park in the street, in the front of the building... 1201 Monroe Ave Asbury Park, NJ 07712 *Enter through the gate to the BLUE DOORS at the top of the stairs (pool is located to your LEFT). MISC: o Lockers / Showers: There are lockers & showers available (you'd just need to bring towels, toiletries). COACH BRIAN BIO: o Brian Shea comes to the program with a wealth of experience in endurance sports as an athlete, coach and consultant. He is the President & Head Coach/Consultant at JSM & for over 25 years, has competed in all levels of endurance sports from 5K to Ultra-marathon Swims/Runs to Ironman. o He has raced/won triathlons in the United States & abroad with multiple Ironman finishes including Ironman Hawaii with Personal Bests of: 5k - 15:54 Marathon - 2:49 Ironman - 9:31 Most recently, Brian has a ( Top-10 finishes at the 8+mile Swim for Alligator Light in Islamorada, FL as well as a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishes (M40-49) at the United States Lifesaving Association National Championships. o On the coaching side, Brian is a certified coach having formulated training and sports nutrition programs for athletes ranging from beginner to professional.
