An Arts Fest Week mini-reunion with the Guitar Brothers and guest Randy Hughes. The Guitar Brothers--Jon Rounds, Bruce Truitt, Jerry Bresee -- are a trio of seasoned musicians and songwriters who found each other in State College in 2021 after many years playing music in far-flung places. Their original music is an eclectic mix of Americana, folk, blues, rock, Latin, and jazz. Rounds grew up in Bucks County, PA, and played in State College with the Rounds Brothers and Cartoon. His songs have been performed and recorded by dozens of artists with ties to State College. Truitt hails from Austin, TX, where he worked in studios as a bassist, guitarist, producer, and composer. He speaks and sings in Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian and has taught music theory and composition for 40 years in academic and private settings. Bresee [Breh-ZEE] grew up in Athens, PA, and pursued an aviation career. He performed in the DC area for many years with folk, rock, country, and jazz groups and has released two CDs of original songs. He still plays monthly gigs in DC with the jazz trio String Theory. Randy Hughes of Cartoon will sit in for this show. Hughes, now living in Carthage NC, will be singing some Cartoon favorites and newer collaborations with Jon Rounds.
