Join the Campbell County Sheriff’s Posse Search and Rescue Team this September for a series of Wilderness Skills Workshops at the Campbell County Public Library! These hands-on training sessions are designed for individuals with some familiarity with outdoor skills and aim to enhance your wilderness expertise. Starting on Thursdays at 6:30 PM, the workshops cover key topics including Land Navigation & Orienteering, Signaling & Communications, Basic Wilderness First Aid, and Man Tracking, leading up to a final mock search exercise on Saturday, September 27, from 8 AM to 12 PM at the Red Rock Trails Area. Participants can attend any combination of sessions—attendance at all is not mandatory. This series is free and open to the public, providing a great opportunity to build confidence and practical skills in wilderness survival.
