Join us on Saturday, July 26th at L.J. Smith Park (1150 Joe Nuxhall Boulevard) in the North End neighborhood beginning at 11:30am as we cook up good food and great ideas to make our community a better, safer place. This cookout is to celebrate Joe Nuxhall's birthday! The main event is a dedication of the State of Ohio Historical Marker honoring beloved hometown hero “Hamilton Joe Nuxhall.” They are inviting teams from each of Hamilton’s 17Strong neighborhoods to come together for a day of fun, community, and celebration, complete with casual, non-competitive baseball and softball games, burgers and hot dogs on the grill, and a special ceremony unveiling the new marker. 11:00 - Start of the Event 11:30 - BBQ 12:30 - Dedication and Recognition 1:00-4:00 Let the Games Begin Barbecuing for a Better Hamilton presents an opportunity to cookout and connect with neighbors, community members, and leaders from across the city, including the City Manager, City Staff, City Council members, Hamilton PD, and many more.
