Join us for a delightful day of outdoor activities on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, featuring two engaging events: Storywalk and Nature Discovery Day: Pond Insects, perfect for all ages!
Start your day at the Bloomington Visitor Center by participating in the Storywalk, a unique experience where you can enjoy nature-themed children's stories while strolling along an easy, accessible path. The Storywalk begins right outside the front doors of the Visitor Center and features a short, scenic route of less than 0.25 miles. Feel free to explore additional storybooks available inside the center. Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle are recommended. Accessibility features include restrooms, water fountains, and ramps for easy navigation.
After the Storywalk, head over to the Old Cedar Avenue Pavilion for the Nature Discovery Day: Pond Insects event from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Drop in anytime to observe and learn about various pond insects and their role in our ecosystem, all while enjoying complimentary snacks provided by the Minnesota Valley Refuge Friends. This program is relaxed and casual, aimed at individuals of all experience levels, and offers a great opportunity to discover the busy life of pond ecosystems. Comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes are advised.
Both events are family-friendly and designed to be fully enjoyable at your own pace. For further questions or accommodation requests, please contact MinnesotaValley@fws.gov or call (952) 854-5900 (press 1 for Visitor Services). We look forward to seeing you there!
