About the Entertainers: The Pälzer Krischer (Palatine Criers) first performed in July 1991 as a folk music band. Their repertoire started with traditional songs and covers of popular Palatine (Pfälzisch) dialect songs. Over time, they added their own compositions and Palatine lyric adaptations of titles from the charts and the oldies. They were active in Karneval (like German ‘Mardi Gras’) music for two decades, including live appearances on TV, and they recorded two CDs. Their regular line-up is drums, bass, two guitars, and accordion, and expanded as needed to include wind instruments. Their 2025 Pennsylvania tour line-up is (in the photo from left-right): Lutz (drums, vocals), Boris (guitar), Deniz (vocals) Peter (guitar/bass) and, in front, Peter (guitar). The Pennsylvania Dutch music project of Northampton County native and Martin Guitar employee Scott Reagan, Blohbariyer means ‘someone who lives by the Blue Mountain.’ Accompanied by acoustic guitar and harmonica, Blohbariyer performs a selection of original songs, traditional folk songs, and dialect poetry set to original music — sung entirely in Pennsylvania Dutch.
